Living in Egypt - A desire for a change.

Hello, my name is Mohamed. A lot of you are probably wondering what Egypt is really like now. Here’s an advice from me to you: Please don’t always believe the media, especially when the source is from the Egyptian Media. All what we ask for is simple; we want all of our revolutionary goals to be fulfilled, and we peacefully demand it.

I decided to join the patriotic young men in Egypt who were and still are protesting. Yes, they were manly enough to take a stand against a 30-year-old totalitarian system, something our parents (as in Egyptian parents) NEVER thought of doing at their young age. Many people were killed because of the brutality system that the regime used against us.

Our country is our priority. It’s what makes our background in life; where we are from, what language do we speak, etc. The current situation in Egypt is a part 2 of the revolution that happened in January 2011. We have been tricked by the Military Council into thinking that the revolution ended when Dictator Mubarak announced his deposition from office. Yes, things have changed, but in a way we Egyptians call a “Half Revolution”. The idea that we changed only faces but not the system is our story now. History has proven that the harder we face the tighter we get closer. I finally understood how my country mattered to me when I saw it being abused by those pathetic totalitarians. People from everywhere around the world are born free!

My thoughts are that the Military Council should resign from leading the country in the transition period. Those young Egyptians that have been killed during the revolution have died for a reason. They died for their country and for their people to live. They put their lives on the line with pride, dignity, honor, and bravery. They did not fear the guns that were aiming at them, nor of getting tortured if caught by the raids. All they asked for was the best for their country. People in a rebellion have demands, and we demand that the Military Council steps down immediately. WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO ABUSE OUR COUNTRY AND TRICK US AGAIN. Our revolution is peaceful and will always stay peaceful. We will continue our struggle and fight against such aristocratic powers, because we want FREEDOM, CHANGE & JUSTICE, no matter what the cost. We believe we can achieve them peacefully, and we will never lose hope....

Janet Devlin gets a record deal

Just a quick update - it has been revealed that Janet has scored a record deal, 35 minutes after she has been eliminated from the X-factor. Go girl!

Public in uproar after Janet left X-factor

Janet has been feeling sick the whole week and stopped singing on Saturdays performance in order to avoid throwing up live on national television. This has resulted with her being in the bottom two, along with surprise surprise - Misha B, who has been saved the fourth time this series.
But did the judges make the right choice? Many argue that since Misha keeps on falling into the sing-offs it just proves that the public dont want her; but one little mistake costed Janet her jouney in the X-factor. Many also claim that Tulisa saved Misha only to "save her face" after the bullying claims and that Kelly abstained because she too wanted to keepher face while secretly oprint to send Janet home.


Whatever is the truth, the publis seems to be in love with this Irish lass, and I am sure we will definetely see her again after such an amazing sing off, which you can watch and enjoy :)

Selena Gomez stalker spoke to God about killing her

As if the the allegations of her boyfriend having a child were not enough, Selena now has a stalker who has allegely spoken to God about murdering her.
Thomas Brodnicki, has a history of criminal stalking, and tried to plead insane when the singer has filed charges against him.
She managed to get a restraining order and he is now locked in mental hospital.
Now lets see how she deals with Bieber not being able to keep his pants on for long ;)

What I think of this.

I have been following the news due to my job at my blog, and I must say I am so dissapointed by all of this fake drama and attention that some people crave. Kim Kardashians fake ( and yes, it was fake) wedding just shows how far would some people go for their 15 mins of fame and money.Couldnt they atleast pretend that it was real? Maybe if they made a sex tape their marriage would have lasted longer.
And how about a certain Mariah Yeater, who claims Justin Bieber is the father of her child? Well now atleast we finally know Justin is a male, but again, I believe this claim is fake and has been made only for her to achieve her 15 minutes of fame. She actually got me thinking - what if I go to The Sun tomorrow and tell them Harry Stylez got me pregnant? If anything, that will get him to notice me.
Sadly though, 17 year old Harry is snogging, going out for meals and just in general having a fun time with Caroline Flack, who just happens to be twice his age. Does anyone else see anything wrong with that or am I just jealous?
And all the X-factor drama does deserve a mention here. I think they realised nobody wants to watch them anymore, so voice became the least important thing on the agenda. With a completely new judging panel ( Louis seems to have grown roots that attach him to his chair and that is, im my humble opinion, the only thing preventing Simon from sacking him - he simply cant wrench him out.) there is more drama drama drama! Kelly is furious that Tulisa accused one of her acts of bullying, Gary Barlow is running around confiscating joints from Frankie and cupcakes from Craig while Louis ponders about the public's almost unanimous hatred for Kitty. Oh god.
So where have the good role models gone? I have just one question - is it really the things they would do have they not been famous? Or are they doing this to grab attention? Now in the case of Kim Kardashian this is clear, but the rest? Come on! And having said that, please sigh the petition to sack the Keeping up with the Kardashians show off E! television. Pretty please. Maybe then our brains will not be polluted with so much sh*t and we will start thinking about more important things.

Kim Kardashian is in BIG trouble.

Ok, so her marriage lasted a whole 75 days, but has she done it for publicity? Her mum fiercely argues no, however most of her friends say YES. Here's what Phillip Bloch ( Kim's close friend and Holywood stylist) had to say:
"It's embarrasing they couldn't keep up the charade longer. Everyone is fed up and nobody wants to hear about it anymore. She's caught up in the reality show syndrome She's a nice girl but she isnt wild - she's boring. She needed something to make the programme about, so she got married."
It seems like many people agree, since websites like boycottkim.com have launched, pleading people to stop buying her products. And official petition on GoPetition.com was also launched, aimed at the E! producers to cut her off the show.
People are saying that they have had "enough" and are "sick and tired of the whole charade".
Many companies that have affiliated with her have re-signed her, such as bebe clothing and TRIA hair salon.
And if that wasnt enough, sources claim she is also pregnant. Oh dear!

Justin Biebers Love child can cost him 30 million

Justin, who's image is relying on him being squeaky cleam has been involved in a love child scandal. A certain Mariah claims that he is the father of her three months old baby, and demands a paternity test.
She claims that their 30 second saucy encounter backstage ended up with her pregnant, however she can be in trouble for statutory rape since back then Justin was still a minor.
Pop-princess Selena Gomez is standing by her man and both she and Justin claim that the claim is false and unjustified.
If it is proven to be true, he will  have to pay child support , which will cost him around 15 million dollars. + He is very likely to loose many sponsorship deals, which could easily amount to the same sum. 30 million for 30 seconds? oooh baby....

Cher Lloyd wants nothing to do with Cheryl

Simon Cowell said that Cher could be bigger than her X-factor mentor,with whom she has bonded really well on the show, and many people are calling her Cheryl's mini-me.
However Cher replies :  "I don't speak to Cheryl, we have nothing to do with eachother, so will everyone stop asking me about her???"

Australian government has just passed a bill making cigarrete branding illegal - leaving pacts with nothing but graphic image of smoking-related diseases. Tobacco companies have been fiercely fighting against this policy, but it seems like they are fighting a loosing battle.
This decision has raised many questions, such as Is it ok to strip cigarettes of their logos, at taxpayers cost? Will it stop smokers buying them? Is alcohol going to be next?

Sorry for waiting this long to announce this, but me and my boyfriend of 9 months have broken up.
Feels strangely weird...
On the one side I'm very happy there's no more fighting.
On the other I feel very lonely.
It was a good relationship, it taught me many things. and believe me when I say the decision to move on is mutial.
Theres futile hope we will get together again, to be honest.
Right now, just bear with me as I get over it, which, knowing myself, will be pretty fast.

We did this poem in combined studies today, and I felt like I should share it.

AA Rasist?

Bit of background - I go to a private english school in Cyprus. Eventhough it's an english school, i is dominated by Cypriots. Every year, the year 6 parades together with the students from other schools on independance day.

Now the problem.
The english kids, being a minority, have all been kicked out from the parade because apparently they didnt walk well enough.
Coincidence? I don't think so.

And what can we do? Complain to teachers? They were the ones that kicked us out. Complain to the deputy? He never gives a shit, he runs around trying to find people to suspend. To the principal? Well, we will try tomorrow.

But I really feel as if there is nothing we can do.

It has dawned on me that blog has been up for a month and a bit, and I have over a thousand views. That is amazing.

Every day, like clockwork, I get a visit from one person in Kuwait. That is seriously amazing, because I knew nothing about that country before my economics project in Oxford. I was very surprised to see how advanced your small country is. So if you are reading this, mysterious reader, hi :)

The shopping thingy

I was asked to do a quick shopping review, and so I am doing it :)


I started out in Prime Timers & Dash, and I was straightaway able to find what I needed. Very fucking skinny black jeans. there were a number of tops I liked as well, like an open-back black one, but I decided to save that for later, as things there a bit pricey. Don't expect anything under 60 euros there. But they are very worth it.


I went down to Guess, and I saw some pretty knitted things there. The big disappointment comes when you try them on - they look very bad, sort of like a knitted bathrobe. They do have a number of nice "boyfriend" cardigans though. No need to mention the amazing bags and purses, you know it.


Next stop was Topshop, and by then I made up my mind about what I needed. I asked the sales assistant to show me something club-like, not black and not baggy ( I really was running out of time, so I couldn't go around myself). Guess what? The first thing pointed out to me was baggy, black and very long. Assuming she was taking the piss I repeated my request, and was immediately produced another, even baggier top. I just left. Saw one nice blazer, but wasn't gonna buy it from there just cause of that woman.

Bershka has always been my favourite. Saw some very worthy jeans there, and nice tops for the winter season. Not quite what I was looking for, but I'll be back.

BSB didn't have what I wanted, and neither did Zara. They believe, for no apparent reason, that baggy / muffin tops are it this season. Are they? Not the ones that I've seen, no. Some very nice flats on the first floor of Zara though, but I bought a pair before and they left blisters, so I'll think twice before buying from there again.

Terranova is another personal favourite. Some pretty looking things there, & I'll definitely return for that "my boyfriend makes me angry" T-shirt.


That's it really. More detailed stuff coming on later, with maybe some other people doing a guest feature on my blog ( reviewing shops).

Something you’re proud of in the past few days

I'm proud of myself in general. I seem to be handling work & schoolwork and social life quite efficiently. Also managed to secure a couple of jobs promoting stuff right here on this blog. I am one happy bunny ;)

I DID IT

Due to a number of special requests ( from special people) I have opened up a poetry section. Dont be too harsh on it, I'm uploading stuff I wrote in year 1, 2 and 3.

Short term goals for this month and why

I need to post more, be more efficient & get all of my work out of the way. This moth has been CRAZY with all the stuff I have to do. Sereously. This is why I haven't posted a lot.

And yeah, SHIT, I need to book a hotel in  Paris, otherwise I'll end up going there and camping out on the street.
Anyone know any good hotels? Inbox me.

And also I need to sort out my French - I've improved a lot but there is still a long way to go.

beauty

You know how they say "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"?
Well bullshit.
We all know how we are supposed to look, and dress, and behave.
And that pisses me off.
I don't consider myself beautiful, or sexy, or attractive in many kinds of ways, Yes, I have low self esteem, people close to me know that.
And I have been brought down a lot to support that opinion.
Right now I'm doing something that I actually look down upon, something I never considered doing.
I'm thinking of altering my image to get closer to this little perfection we all have in mind

A wasted life.

Let me tell you about another wasted life.
Let me tell you about a person who has died tonight.

He was a well known Russian buisinessman, who was imprisoned by the government who saw an enemy in him.
They wanted to scare him, break him, make him cooperate.
He didn't.
So they "accidentaly" withdrew blood from him with an infected syringe.
He contracted AIDS.
After a year, he was partially blind, had tuberculosis, and kidney cancer.
He still refused to break.
They still refused to let him go.

Today, this brave man has died, and I want to honour him, for standing up against our government.
He has given us hope for a better tomorrow.
May you rest in peace, Vasiliy Alexanyan. May your torturers die screaming, of cancer, like you did.

Trip to Greece.

If you put together 140 16 to 18 year olds, all ambitious, stubborn, stupid and with their own ideas , and ask them to cooperate, you're asking for trouble.
Obviously, no one will fully agree, and knowing our year, debates that will make the best lawyers jealous will occur.
I'm just waiting to see what will happen.

And no, don't take wrong, I will participate and I am hopefull it does work out in the end.
 But sometimes being realistic helps :D
